BioShirt

The BioShirt was a project done for a design class taught at the Gallatin School of Individualized Studies at NYU. The goal of this project was to create a shirt representing a particular design principle while using the material of one shirt. The BioShirt is meant to represent the deformation. To show this design principle, Maria tore up a shirt into small pieces and mixed them into an algae and gelatin mixture. The resulting product was the biofabric used to make the new shirt.

2nd attempt at making the biofabric. Fabric pieces were layed down flat and a different gelatin/agae mixture ratio was used. This attempt was succesful.
